Commercial Sales Negotiator

Location: Preston Dock | Office based | Hours: Full time | 8.45 am – 5.15 pm | Mon-Fri (with alternating Thurs or Fri 3.45 pm finish)

Salary: £30,000 (Depending on experience) + realistic OTE £45,000+

We are looking for experienced commercial sales negotiators who can open doors, build trust, and deliver results.

Training will be given, both on the job and theoretical. The position will suite someone who is a quick learner and keen to try new things.

About the role

This exciting role involves learning about mergers and acquisitions, managing a portfolio of businesses for sale.

The ideal candidate must have 2 years experience in sales and a desire to learn and develop into a leading corporate negotiator in the UK. The ideal candidate will receive full training and development on how to sell and transact businesses in an award winning business.

JOB DESCRIPTION & REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and deliver commercial sales mandates for a portfolio of clients. (The clients will be provided for you. It’s an execution only role there will be no requirement to win new business).
  • Negotiating price and transaction structure between the buyers and the sellers (our clients)
  • Responding to enquiries about the businesses for sale and building rapport with the potential buyers.
  • Explaining the sales process to clients when they are first engaged then guiding them through the process as it progresses.
  • Presenting the business for sale to buyers in the best possible light.
  • Researching appropriate buyers and the markets the buyer and seller operate in.
  • Working with the Directors to develop strategies to sell current and future listings.
  • To build up a network and database of contacts using a variety of media.
  • Project managing the financial and legal due diligence process as a transaction completes. This will include chasing information that is required from the client. There could also be elements of negotiation and mediation involved as information comes to light in this part of the process
  • To win new business if the opportunity arises.
  • To ensure that your own key performance indicators and business plans are being met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and to contribute to the profitability of the Group
  • To provide management reports and present them to the Board as requested
  • Ensure press releases are delivered for all completions from sellers and buyers.
  • To actively promote, the business, the brand and self in a professional, positive manner via social media, LinkedIn, twitter etc.

  • To be responsible for improving your performance by participating in the Performance appraisal process with your manager.
  • To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities or as necessitated by the needs of the business.
  • The role profile and list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process, and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Track record of negotiating and successfully concluding deals
  • 2+ year in B2B sales experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, KPI’s and Targets.
  • Knowledge of the financial and legal due diligence process or similar (from property sales for example).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage commercially with clients
  • Project and client management skills
  • Accurate and organised, with impeccable numeracy/writing skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven track record of organising and planning skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and on your own initiative
